Jack Chally

Jack Chally, Node Coordinator

Jack joined the Mid-Atlantic Node staff in 2012 and is currently the Node Manager/Node Coordinator for the
Mid-Atlantic Node at Johns Hopkins University since October 2012. Jack is responsible for coordinating
management and communication working with study sites on current NIDA/CTN trials.  He oversees budgetary
concerns and supervises staff.  Jack has brought a lot of enthusiasm to the node for new initiatives and ideas
for future CTN trials.  Previously he was the Lead Protocol Specialist at the Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC)
for the CTN and managed over 10 multi-site, national clinical trials for the CTN.  Jack has expertise in clinical
research, behavioral health, healthcare management, and is a certified cognitive behavioral therapist.


Christine Higgins

Christine Higgins, Dissemination Coordinator

Christine is the Dissemination Specialist for the Mid-Atlantic Node.  As such, she has created a series of
training initiatives for the participating treatment programs in Maryland and Virginia in order to establish
clinic wide adoptions of evidence-based-practices, in particular Motivational Incentives and Motivational
Interviewing.  Under her leadership, the node supports a website which has been designed to promote the
use of incentives and resolve implementation issues: www.motivationalincentives.org. She is also responsible
for the planning and coordination of the Node's Annual Symposium.  Christine is an expert trainer in the use of
Motivational Interviewing.  She is a certified MINT Trainer, and she received the first MIA-Step Training
sponsored by the ATTC (Addiction Technology Transfer Center) in May, 2007.  She is a ROSC certified
trainer and makes presentations throughout the state for agency preparedness. 

Linda Dowell


Linda Dowell, Administrative Assistant

Linda is an essential part of our team in that she provides comprehensive administrative support for the node. 
She performs a myriad of office management tasks, including compiling data and assisting with special
projects, tracking weekly study conference calls that require agenda and minutes.  She makes travel and
accommodation arrangements and prepares reimbursements for visitors and staff.
